Overview

This is a beautiful, short, simple, practical book that contains techniques that readers can begin using immediately and effectively to change their lives.

Who Would Benefit From Reading This Book and Why?

Coaches looking for meditations, visualisation exercises and techniques to help clients use their imaginations to take control and change their lives.

Shakti Gawain’s book seeks to reconcile the paradox between ‘going with the flow’, and coaching that by its very nature is intrinsically goal centred. Shakti explains by letting go and going with the flow we can begin to guide our way through life consciously like steering our way along the flow of a river rather than clinging to its banks from fear and hence becoming very goal orientated and emotionally attached to things and people we feel we need in order to be happy.

The principle works by quietening the mind and creating thoughts and images that help steer us to what we truly want and what makes us truly happy. The way it works is to decide on something you want to manifest in your life, for example a job, health, relationship. Then create a mental image and or a feeling of the image that represents what you want. Create strong positive affirmations around the image. Then focus on it often during meditation and throughout the day until you achieve your goal. The more you use creative visualisation the more it becomes a state of consciousness and the less of a technique. She quotes ‘Thou shall degree a thing and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy way’ Job22:28

Reviewer’s Opinion

Creative visualization has been a key tool in my life that helped me manage my symptoms following the onset of post-polio syndrome. Through Shakti Gawain’s Healing meditation I realised that I could take control over my health and achieve a deeper understanding of my body, steer my mind to positive thoughts and connect to a level of consciousness in which I am the creator of my own world. A healthier world!
